Visa and Mastercard unveil AI-powered shopping

Visa Launches Intelligent Commerce

The platform would curate a selection of outfits and accessories from both local boutiques and online retailers based on the user’s style, the event venue, and even weather forecasts. The agent not only makes the purchase but also suggests the best way to complete the payment, such as using Mastercard One Credential.

Mastercard is also collaborating with major players like Microsoft, IBM, Braintree, and Checkout.com to extend the capabilities of agentic commerce.

Other Innovations in AI-Powered Shopping

Visa and Mastercard are not alone in the race to integrate AI into shopping. On Tuesday, PayPal announced an AI-driven agentic commerce product aimed at enhancing the shopping process. Additionally, earlier this month, Amazon began testing an AI shopping assistant called “Buy for Me,” which allows certain users to have items purchased for them at third-party stores.
