Googles NotebookLM expands its AI podcast feature to more languages
Google’s AI-powered note-taking and research tool, NotebookLM, is taking a big step forward by expanding its Audio Overviews feature to 76 additional languages. Originally launched last year, Audio Overviews allows users to transform documents like study materials, legal briefs, or other texts into engaging podcasts with virtual AI hosts.
New Ways to Engage with Content
The goal behind this update is to offer a fresh method for users to understand and retain the information contained in their documents. With the new language options, NotebookLM users can now generate audio summaries in the language of their choice, making the tool even more versatile for a global audience.

Enhanced Flexibility with Output Language Options
Previously, Audio Overviews were automatically generated in the user’s preferred account language. Now, a dedicated “Output Language” selection lets individuals decide which language should be used for their audio summaries. This feature enables educators and learners alike to create multilingual content effortlessly. For example, a teacher curating diverse resources – such as a Portuguese documentary or a Spanish research paper – can now have key insights narrated in the students’ preferred language.
